Bob and Zan are on Vacation!

July 29, 2008

I started a two-week vacation from work last friday.   I have only got to sleep in once.  I have helped my brother move once, played in a baseball tournament and spent a day helping my parents finish their basement.

Any ways, I have been talking about this vacation time for awhile and Zan decided to take his vacation time at the same time!   Yea!   We planned on going golfing tomorrow but Zan had to cancel.   I am hoping we can plan something else soon.

Zan drove!

July 29, 2008

Last night I hung out with the Wonder Twins, Jayna and I convinced Zan to drive.   We had him make some turns and such in an empty parking lot.    He did well.   He side-swiped some imaginary cars but I believe if they were really there then he would have been more scared and avoided them.

Walking around Toronto with a baseball bat

July 10, 2008

When I went downtown to pick up the x-box from my brother (he knows more about this kind of stuff so he bought it for me), I hung around at his place for awhile. Then we decided to go out and get some ice cream and maybe hit some baseballs around. We walked to Baskin Robbins. I found out some interesting things:

1) When you walk down the street with a baseball bat in your hand, busy sidewalks seem to get more open and seem less busy.

2) If you walk into a store like Baskin Robbins then you can walk right up to the counter and get served immediately.

3) At the bank, nobody waits inside with you while you are using the automatic bank machine.

4) People asking for directions, do not take the time to ask you.

After noticing this I have decided to walk around Toronto with a baseball bat more often.

Celebrity Family Feud

July 9, 2008

I was watching tennis on the weekend. It was a great match, but I will get into that at a later date. I saw a commercial for celebrity family feud. I saw Earl from “My Name is Earl” was on it. This got me mildly interested. Because my plans got rained out last night, I just happen to be home last night when FF started. I watched the American Gladiators face the cast from “The Office” (I wish they were in character, it would have been funny). And in the second round, they had Earl’s family against a “family” formed from people that live in his fictional town (except for one guy I didn’t recognize). These people stayed in character the whole time, this made for entertaining jokes but not for a competitive game of family feud. It felt scripted, which I would prefer my game shows NOT to be. I would rather see these people improvise, play the game in character. In the end, the cast from “The Office” won $50,000 for their charity. It was entertaining but it could have been better.

X-Box 360

July 7, 2008

I finally bought an X-box 360. My whole x-box fund thing didn’t work out as i hoped as I didn’t get over $100 in the thing but I found this one on craigslist for a good price. Also I have been saving up money for awhile overall. My brother has given me a bunch of games and right now I have two controllers. I was playing this one Simpsons game, it was so much fun. You can turn Homer into a big ball and roll and bounce around. I was also playing this NBA street game. I did fine with the scoring but it seems the game puts a lot of value into making all sorts of weird moves (some looking like break-dancing). I need to learn that. Can’t wait to play it some more!

New house, new blog

July 2, 2008

Starting with the first part of the title, my brother has bought a house! I have no idea how he is going to afford it but he is buying a house with a friend and it is located in the Eglinton and Keele area. Not sure if that is a good area or not, we will see. Nice to see my bro growing up.

I was just informed about a new blog (new to me) that a friend started up. I challenge WIGSF not to look at the names on the right side of the page and see if he recognizes whose blog it is (it isn’t tough). Here is the link:
