Cell phone “skins”

I know nothing about this sort of thing but rogers says I can get a free one.   What kind of skin should I get on my phone.   I think I can get any picture I want on my phone but I am not sure what it is cool and not.

Baseball season is done

The Unicorns 3-pitch season is finished.   We had the finals yesterday.   We were facing an inferior team that couldn’t even field a full team.   This was one of the few times I was confident going into a playoff game.   I did have a record to back-up my swagger since the 3-pitch teams I had played on hadn’t lost a playoff game yet in 2008 (5-0).    But alas, we lost the game yesterday.   It was a close one with a final score of 22-20.   In the bottom of the 7th, we had our best power hitter on-deck, if he got up there was a good chance he could have won the game with one swing of the bat… that is if he had gotten up.   Individually I played a good game, not my best one but a good one nonetheless.   But baseball isn’t an individual sport and there were a lot of dropped fly balls in the outfield and they came back to cost us the game.   Sad way to end a long baseball season, hopefully the winter won’t feel too long.

Today

Today is the 10-year anniversary of a very special day.   10 years ago I asked a group of girls out and they accepted the invitiation and our lives changed forever.   Friendships were formed, hearts were broken and lots of little stories have happened over the years.   But I think we all can agree to it was a defining moment.   It is funny, all we wanted to do was celebrate Zan’s return from private school.   What is sad is that now 10 years later, everyone seems fractured, especially the birthday girl from the rest of the group.   But I still value her friendship.

Fire Alarms

I woke up this morning at 2:30am to the fire alarm going off.   I did not get out as quick as I did last time but I still did well because I was the first one outside again.   This time security was present so everything got dealt with quick.   I was back in bed by 2:50am.   I could hear the fire trucks leaving, just as they were leaving the parking lot, the alarm went off AGAIN!    This time I didn’t go outside.   I shut off the alarm in my place and laid there waiting for the truck to come back and shut off the alarm.   Either that or they announce that they were wrong over the intercom and there actually is a fire.   The former happened the alarm was shut off another 10 minutes later.   It went off one more time… an hour later just after 4am.   I was losing a lot of sleep and I think I even started having nightmares about fires and alarms. 

This led to me being slow getting up this morning.   But I moved quick enough to get to work around my usual time only to find that they were having a fire drill at work and I couldn’t pull into the parking lot!   Four fire alarms in 7 hrs!!

Zack and Miri make a Porno – Review

I saw the movie last night.   None of my friends were interested in seeing the movie all weekend long so I went on the cheap night ($4) when there wasn’t much on TV.   And I went alone.   I do not like going to movies alone but hey this was the second Kevin Smith movie in a row I have had to go alone too… I guess my friends hate Kevin Smith (I know WIGSF does!).   I did not think about how weird I might look going alone to a movie that has the word “porno” in the title.   But alas that didn’t occur to me until about halfway through the movie.   

Now to the movie.   I knew going in that we were going to see Mewes’s penis in it.   I was not interested in that and was ready to look away when the scene occurs but I had no idea that other guys penises would be shown.   That caught me off-guard, that wasn’t cool.   Also the scene with the guy getting shit on… also quite disgusting.   Overall it was a funny movie, not an instant classic, like I would consider some of Kevin Smiths previous movies and also some of Seth Rogen’s movies but still funny and entertaining.   One actor stood out in this… it was Craig Robinson.   You might know him as Darryl from NBC’s “The Office” or the bouncer from the movie “Knocked Up”.   He was great.  

Also a couple of other actors who were pleasant surprises in the movie:

1) Kenny Hotz from “Kenny vs. Spenny”.   Actually maybe not pleasant but I know he has fans out there.

2) Gerry Bednob.   Probably don’t recognize the name but he Mooj from “40 year old Virgin”.   His role was small in this movie but it was funny with some great dialogue. 

Good news was that Smith didn’t throw himself into the movie but the bad news is that he had his wife in it again.   She sucked… again.   Another disappointment was the fact that we never got to see “Star Whores”. 

Also the idea of the movie… they made the concept seem a lot tougher than it actually is.   They didn’t need the list of people from their high school to sell the movies to.   All they had to do is sell the movie online and tell everyone that it has “Granny-panties” in it.    Any ways, once again, an entertaining movie although it is quite predictable.

Saturday night

Saturday night Zan’s birthday was celebrated.   There was a lot of drinking at their place, so much so that early on I was planning on spending the night on their couch.   Zan decided he didn’t want to go out for food so we ordered in Popeye’s chicken.   My first time having that kind of fast food in a month.   But it was a special occasion.   Any ways the cast of characters was the Wonder Twins, Egon, Polly, Sam and of course me.   We played some guitar hero which I didn’t really want to do but I have improved at.   Sam and I watched some raptors at one point and there was a lot of cursing in a foreign language that I do not understand.   Polly was so drunk that she spent a lot of the time on her ass.   Sam didn’t want to drink much because he had church in the morning with his parents.   The rest of us didn’t care (Note:  I didn’t notice it at the time but Jayna was not drinking).   I ended up having two shots of JD, most of a 350 bottle of Bailey’s and a couple Smirnoff bottles that had 7% alcohol.   Felt a little bit woozy but good overall.   What I didn’t feel was gay.   Somehow the alcohol made the birthday boy feel gay as he grabbed Egon from behind and rolled on the floor with him.   It was weird, awkward and unbelievable.    Make no mistake, no clothes came off or anything but I still found it so unbelievable that I decided to video-tape it.   Never can enough blackmail footage.   If I can get the video online then I will share the link with you.   Sam was lucky enough to leave early and miss this display.   We also played some drunken Jenga and watched some parts of the movie ”Old School”.  

Soon after it was decided that we were going out for a late night snack.   Jayna ended up driving us all the way to Steeles and Pharmacy or something.   When we got to the restaurant, Zan wouldn’t get out fo the car so we left him in there to sleep (it was 2:30 or 1:30 in the morning depending when you turned your clock back).   Egon and I went out to check on him to make sure he wasn’t freezing (actually I just tried shaking the car to wake him).   We finished our meal and drove back to their place.   Upon arriving Zan would once again not get out of the car.   Egon tried pulling him out but Zan just pushed him away and gave his middle finger with his eyes closed.   I decided that I would go in the other side and push Zan out, instead I just held his hands while Egon pulled his legs out.   Once we got him standing in the parking lot he made it inside by himself.   i felt quite sober at this point, I had the drinks quite a bit earlier.   I figured I was okay to drive home.   At that point of the night I figured sleeping in my bed would be best since I have a baseball game on sunday.   What I found surprising is that Polly was also going to drive home.   I wasn’t confident in her abilities so I followed her home.   She made it alright… and so did I.   That is what happened on saturday night.  

In other news, there was excitement at Zan’s work earlier in the day.   We actually showed up about 10 minutes after the main event but when we got there we saw three cop cars, a guy lying down on the ground and a woman crying out “NO!!!!!”   Not sure about the full story but a guy messed up a convience store and got arrested for it.
