They chickened out

May 28, 2009

We were suppose to have another weight-in today. The girl asked that we postpone it. I knew I was going to win but I decided to postpone it because I felt sorry for her husband.  He has been sick for awhile and it might not be fair to him.

What a difference a division makes

May 27, 2009

Last year I played with a 3-pitch team with some beginners and people who hadn’t played baseball in a long time.    I helped lead the team to victory two seasons in a row.   I was a rock at third and for once I was playing like I was a franchise player.   But we were in the recreation division and this year the team moved up and I am no longer the difference maker.   Although I haven’t been playing well, the team hasn’t had the same success and I am unsure if I was playing at the same level as last year if the team would be any better.    Right now the team is fighting for their playoff lives.    I really want to find a way to make it happen.   I need to raise my game and somehow get some of the beginners that we have on the team (we added new ones) to raise their game too.   It will not be easy.

In the end, I guess what I am saying is that when I was on the team last year I felt like a hero, I felt like a superstar.   I also got to step out of my brother’s superstar type shadow.   I no longer have that feeling.

Friday Night Men’s League

May 22, 2009

Softball.   I have joined a new softball league in Richmond Hill.   Our first game is tonight at 9pm at Richmond Green.   I am very excited, a lot of the usual characters are on this team and we have joined up with some new crazy characters which should make this an interesting season.    I am really excited except for the fact that I am once again the captain of the team.   I didn’t want the responsibility.

You should call Columbia

May 21, 2009

I am unsure if you have been but I know Columbia goes back on monday and there are very few days left for you two to hang out.   You should call him, maybe he will give you a ride in his car, he was showing it off to me on the weekend, made me roll my eyes and almost yawn.

Jeff Goldblum replaces Logan

May 20, 2009

My Dad told me last week that L&O: Criminal Intetn was starting up.   I usually only watch the Logan episodes.    How shocked was I when I tried to watch an even episode and there was no Mike Logan but instead Jeff Goldblum?   I felt betrayed but I do like Goldblum so I decided to give him a chance.    I have to say, I am un-impressed.   He is playing an overly weird detective (every cop show has at least one) but the problem isn’t that he is weird but that CI already has this character in Goren.   I have never been a fan of his character, I don’t understand why they feel they have to have the same sort of thing in the even episodes too.    What is also interesting is that his partner (played by the beautifully red-haired Julianne Nicholson) is also pregnant, I don’t watch CI much but I am pretty sure they already had that plotline with Eames.     YAWN!

The Knights season has begun

May 13, 2009

On monday night, the Knights season began.   We had some old faces and some new faces.    And we also had a new outcome, we weon our first game of the season.   We haven’t won our season opener in years.    This was a pleasant surprise since we had two players miss the game including Kitty and Tiny.    Our rivals, the Roughriders also lost on monday, we haven’t been ahead of them in the standings in a couple of years… actually with our slow starts, I am unsure if we ever have been.

I had a good night with the bat, the first pitch I saw looked like a gift, right in my sweet spot and I got a double out of it.    We had a couple of players clobber the shit out of the ball for home runs (these were beatiful ones, if we had a fence in our league these would have gone over them and we would have had time to stand and admire them instead of telling them to start running.

Also the 3-pitch team that I play with, I missed their game last night but sent somebody to play for me and they are now 2-0.    My friday night men’s league doesn’t starting for another 9 days.

My avatar

May 7, 2009

I spent 5-10 minutes last week trying to figure out how to customize my avatar on this thing and couldn’t figure it out.    WordPress has pissed me off!

Scrubs finale tonight

May 6, 2009

Is it truly the season finale or will the creator try to get another season out of it?   I don’t know.   I also don’t know if I will stay on if they try to keep the show going with new cast members.   I will probably give the show a chance but not a long one.   Either way, it will be sad to see JD and Turk leave our screen.    I will be watching, will you?

Movie Marathon Choices

May 5, 2009

I have started the list. The list of movies I want to bring forward for the movie marathon. But I am having trouble deciding what kind of movies to pick out. Do I pick out more comedies or dramas? Do I pick out movies I have not seen and risk them sucking or do I pick out ones that I have enjoyed in the past? One movie I know I am going to try and bring to the marathon is the Elijah Wood movie that I saw earlier this year. It was a good one that I would like to see again. Just can’t remember the name right now. Do you have any ideas? What kind of movies are you bringing?
