Help for PAD

I am not sure if you have heard of the famed author Peter David (or for short: PAD).   He has written a lot of sci-fi including some Star Trek novels and some comic books (Including Aquaman and an X-Men family book called “X-Factor”).   Just before New Year’s he had a stroke while on vacation in Florida.  He is still in hospital but his condition is improving.  Medical bills are going to start adding up.  His wife has posted telling people that they can help by buying some of his writing.  If you are interested, follow the link to his blog, read about some of his stories and decide for yourself if you want to buy one of his “books”.  Thanks!  Link:  http://www.peterdavid.net/2013/01/04/here-is-how-you-can-help-peter/

2012 in review

Man it is amazing how pictures of girls and the word “Twins” can get so many hits.  The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2012 annual report for this blog.

My brother got married on saturday!

It was a fun event. My “best man” speech was alright. People were giving it great reviews but I didn’t think it was very strong. I hate public speaking like that. We took pictures in the rain, that sucked. The food was good. Got to see a lot of people I haven’t seen in a long time. Everyone was saying that this weekend was a good practice for next year.

It is weird thinking that my little brother is now “married”.

I must eat slower food

I have been eating way too much fast food lately.   It is making me rounder and it is hurting my wallet.   Time to get healthier and start working out more.   My knee has been hurt for the last month but it is starting to get better again.   I might set up the treadmill.  

Martin Sheen came to my work today!

I saw him from across the room.  Some co-workers took a picture with him.   One of them is going to have a proud son when he finds out his Mommy took a picture with “Uncle Ben” from the Amazing Spider-man movie that is coming out this summer.   He came by my work for charity/activist reasons.

This week in Softball 2012

Last night the Monkeys had their first two games of the season.   We hit 2 grand slams and my brother hit a monster homer.   I did not play well and ended up getting some cuts and bruises in the process but we won both games!   It was a great way to start the season!   My first “Fat Ninjas” game is on sunday.   We look much improved this year, I hope the other teams aren’t as good as the teams in Ajax. 

Dis and Dat

– Packing a lot of stuff away. Moving in 4 days.

– Raptors had their last game last night. They didn’t suck enough and have very little chance of getting a top 3 pick in the draft.

– Community parodied Law & Order last night. It was amazing. So many shots reminded me of L&O. They even got Hendrix to play her part on the show.

– One week until I go to Vegas for vacation.

– Jays can’t hit.

– 30 Rock had a live show last night, it was kindof entertaining. Paul McCartney had a cameo.

Teams I am rooting for in the NBA playoffs

Had a lot of trouble blogging and responding to stuff on wordpress from my work laptop lately. NBA playoffs start on saturday and with the Raptors not involved, I want to pick a team in each conference that I am going to root for. I found the East to be easy, I am rooting for the Pacers. I like the players they have developed and signed. I think they are great underdogs.

The West is A LOT tougher. I like that the LA Clippers are back in the playoffs and I would like to see them do well… but I think I like the Nuggets even more. I like how their coach George Karl is running the team. I think they are my favourite but after they get knocked out in the first round, I might switch sides. There is something I like about over half of the Western playoff teams:

Lakers – Kobe
Mavs – I also feel bad for them because Odom ditched them.
Spurs – I have tons of respect for them.
Thunder – They are such an exciting team!

Who are you rooting for?

Blue Jays Baseball is back!

I am so excited! The Jays season starts at 3:05pm. This team looks young and hungry. If the players play up to their potential they could be in the race in June. If that is true then I think they need to make a trade for a vetern pitcher so that they can STILL be in it in September! Let’s Go Blue Jays!

Fantasy Baseball Draft with Dial-up

It doesn’t work. I tried logging on last night and I needed to download a flash player on the computer and everything took too long. I called Bobette to ask her to check the team I am drafting, told her if she did then i would pick one of her favourite players. When she logged-in, she looked at the wrong list and listed a lot of horrible players. When she figured out her mistake, I felt a lot better about my team because of the original list. Her favourite players were already picked.
